Being In the Lap of the Mother: A Community Fundraiser

with Kashi Atlanta Ashram & Kashi Florida Ashram

June 23 – 25

There is a place within us where our soul sits whole and at peace. Like a child being held by their mother, the deep reality of this space cancels out all the maya or illusion of the world, and we sit complete, knowing who we are. To be in this space is to sit in the lap of the divine Mother.

Many of us in this teaching know first hand what it means to live with the arms of the Mother around us. Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati took us to that space in ourselves again and again. And she continues this practice with new students every day. Ma shows us this space so we can feel her love for us, and hopefully, learn to see ourselves as she sees us. Ma is teaching us to love ourselves as she loves us.

Please join us for a community celebration and feel the love of the universal Mother. We will host a Full Fire Puja on Friday night, led by Swami Bhagavati Das, the Head Pujari of Kashi Ashram. A Fire Puja is an ancient Vedic ritual done to burn away that which we do not need and to ignite the fire of truth within us. The fire ceremony will be followed by an informal community gathering, during which Yashoda, Ma’s caretaker and one of her closest students, will open a Silent Auction of Sacred Art, Jewelry and Puja Items. We will hang out, have chai and an array of dessert prasad, which is food that has been specially blessed.

Saturday we will practice yoga, Yashoda and other gurubai will address the community, and we will listen to a recording of Ma Jaya. After a luscious vegetarian lunch we reconvene for a Swami Panel Discussion and Q&A on the joy of being part of a spiritual community. We will close the Silent Auction and end the day with an informal hang-out at one of our resident houses with, of course, more dessert and entertainment.

Please join us in this Kashi community celebration of our lineage and our hearts.
